The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into the NFL Draft, but they have an important veteran issue that needs to be addressed first.
Another round of trade rumors swirling with defensive end Maxx Crosby. Crosby was reportedly unhappy when the team placed him on injured reserve late last season, a move that appeared to be an effort to secure the No. 1 pick in the draft. The Raiders did get the No. 1 pick, but there are lingering questions about the future of Crosby, one of the NFL’s best pass rushers.

General manager John Spectek was asked if he expected Crosby to join the Raiders next season.
“I do, yes,” Spectek said at the combine.

That doesn’t guarantee Crosby will stay in Las Vegas. Spytek will likely retain whatever trade leverage he has. But the Raiders had previously refused to trade Crosby, and Spitek said he was confident Crosby would stay in Las Vegas.
“Maxx is an elite player,” Spytek said. “When I came here I was very honest from the beginning that our mission was to have very good players in the team and we needed more of them. Without them it would be difficult to build an elite team.”

Spytek said Crosby is in the Raiders’ building “every day” recuperating. He said he believes Crosby still wants to stay with the Raiders.
“Maxx and I had a great conversation and I felt comfortable there, yeah,” Spytek said.
