Sony has announced a new ‘Summer Sale’ offer offering discounts on PlayStation 5 consoles in India. The limited-time offer is available on select PS5 slim models, with prices slashed by Rs 10. 5,000. The PS5 Summer Sale begins on Thursday, April 17, and will run until May 14, or while supplies last.
PS5 Summer Sale Details
Both PS5 slim models are discounted – PS5 slim physical edition (CFI-2008A) and PS5 slim digital edition (CFI-2008B). The physical version comes with a Blu-ray drive and is priced at Rs. The price during the promotion period is Rs 49,990, which is lower than the retail price of Rs 49,990. 54,990. On the other hand, the digital version also fetched Rs. 5,000 discount, priced at Rs. 39,990 instead of the usual Rs. 44,990.
Summer sale discounts are now available across Amazon, Blinkit, Croma, Flipkart, Reliance, Sony Center, Vijay Sales and other participating retailers. Offer ends on May 14th while supplies last. This sale does not include PS5 accessories, PS VR2, or PS Portal remote player.
Sony has increased PS5 console prices in key regions including Europe, UK, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia and New Zealand from April 14 after US President Donald Trump announced widespread tariffs on US imports, with India launching PS5 discounts.
PlayStation’s parent company called the “economic environment challenging” and said high inflation and currency fluctuations had led it to increase the console’s suggested retail price. PS5 prices have not increased yet in the US and India.
The PS5 slim is thinner and lighter than the original PS5 and retails for the same price of Rs 100. The disc version is priced at Rs 54,990 and the CD version is priced at Rs 54,990. The digital version is priced at 44,990. The slim version of the console will be launched in India on April 5, 2024, replacing the older PS5.
