In December 2025, a video circulated online showing Judge Frank Caprio telling the story of how he found Barron Trump, the son of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, guilty of an assault at a bar.
Caprio, a judge and star of the TV show “Providence Trap,” is also famous online for his compassionate displays in the courtroom. Caprio died in August 2025 at the age of 88. The video appears to show Trump before he won a second term, with Caprio calling him a “former president.”
“Barron Trump used his father’s presidential powers in my courtroom. I sentenced him to two years in prison and proved that in America, no one, not even the 19-year-old son of a former president, is above the law,” Caprio said at the end of the video circulating on YouTube and Facebook.
Snopes readers scoured the site for evidence that Barron Trump was in jail or that Caprio was speaking out.

JUDGE OF JUSTICE’s YouTube channel contains a large number of artificially generated Caprio videos. The account’s creator could not be reached at the time of publication.
Even without a disclaimer, there are a number of red flags present in the video that indicate the use of artificial intelligence. For example, the American flag in the background looks distorted in many places. Caprio’s intonation sounded monotonous, a common characteristic of artificially generated audio.
Caprio is a judge in Rhode Island who presides over municipal court, which typically handles misdemeanors and minor offenses such as traffic tickets and trespassing. The official “Caught in Providence” YouTube channel for the TV show about Caprio’s court has no video of Barron Trump assaulting anyone.
Google searches for “Barron Trump prison,” “Barron Trump prison,” and “Barron Trump attack” also show no relevant results from reputable news outlets. If the president’s youngest son were charged with assault, it would certainly be considered newsworthy.
