Popular Aldi Product Recalled Due To Potential Rodent Hair Contamination

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled Simply Nature, Spinach Bites sold by Aldi because the product may be contaminated with rodent hair. New Jersey-based Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods Inc. is listed as the recalling company in the notice.

While the activation date was January 16, 2026, the FDA updated the classification to a Class II recall on March 16, 2026, meaning consumption “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

Nearly 8,000 units of the affected product are located in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

What to do if you have a recalled product

Although guidance has not yet been issued, it is generally recommended not to eat recalled products but to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
