The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their winning streak to seven games with a narrow victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
All levels are based on our typical expectations for each player.
Donovan Mitchell

Mitchell started 4-15. But, as we’ve seen all season, Mitchell turned it on when the Cavaliers needed him most. He shot 5-for-8 the rest of the way and had his 100th 30-point game as a Cavalier.

James Harden
18 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds1 theft
Harden is hitting the ball efficiently since joining the Cavaliers. He dished out another eight assists tonight, and the Cavaliers’ offense feels stronger than it has all season under his leadership. We just wish he could grab a few more rebounds or be sharper on defense.

Jarrett Allen
26 points, 14 reboundss, 2 assistss, 1 block
Allen hasn’t let up on any opponent in weeks. He kept his head down and attacked the paint again and again tonight because the Hornets didn’t have enough bodies to stop him. If he hadn’t grabbed 14 rebounds, the Cavaliers would have lost this one. Great, Alan. This act of aggression is a joy to watch.
grade: A+
Jaylen Tyson
5 points, 1 rebound
Tyson’s role has changed significantly since Harden’s arrival. That means we may have to adjust how we grade him. He just didn’t get as many opportunities. That said, Cleveland could have done a better job on the glass.

Gene Ellis
4 Scored, 4 rebounds3 assists, 2 steals
I believe Ellis can clone himself and be in multiple places at once. That’s the only way to explain some of the defensive plays he came up with.

thomas bryant
2 points and 5 reboundss, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 blocks
Kobe had some highs and lows. His shot blocking in the third quarter was excellent, but he may have been too slow for such a fast-paced game.
grade: B-
Dennis Schroeder
8 points, 3 assists and 3 steals
Schroeder remains a pest. He made two big steals in the second half and gave the Cavaliers bench the edge they had been missing.

Sam Merrill
10 points and 2 reboundsTrumpet, 2 assists
Merrill had more success tonight. He made 2 of 4 three-pointers and had a nice backdoor cut early in the first half.

Dean Wade
8 points, 4 reboundss, 1 steal
In the fourth quarter, Wade hit consecutive three-pointers to end the game. He hasn’t missed a shot since returning from the All-Star break.
