People Can’t Believe What The Denver Airport Is Asking People To Give TSA Workers

As of today (Thursday), the Department of Homeland Security has been partially shut down for approximately 27 days.

Due to wage shortages, Transportation Security Administration workers are calling in sick and security lines are getting longer. Travelers are warned to arrive several hours early due to possible delays.

Now, a post from Denver International Airport (DEN) asking for donations to TSA employees is going viral:

Denver International Airport is asking for $10 and $20 gift cards for groceries and gas for unpaid TSA workers. Visa gift cards are not accepted. Get off at the designated location

AP reporter Seung Min Kim put it bluntly: “A major U.S. airport is asking travelers to donate gift cards to TSA agents who are working without pay during the government shutdown.”

The response was equally bleak: “Thanks for working for free and enjoy the frozen treats at menchies!” one person wrote.
