AP reporter Seung Min Kim put it bluntly: “A major U.S. airport is asking travelers to donate gift cards to TSA agents who are working without pay during the government shutdown.”

The response was equally bleak: “Thanks for working for free and enjoy the frozen treats at menchies!” one person wrote.
Another person said what we were all thinking: “Our government sucks.”
