Penn State WR Kaden Saunders to enter NCAA transfer portal

The transfer portal is about to open to college football players, and Penn State wide receiver Kaden Sanders is getting ready to step into it.

According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, Sanders is expected to enter his name in the NCAA transfer portal.

Sanders came to Penn State as a four-star wide receiver in the 2022 class, but he never had any meaningful role on the field. Although wide receiver is a position that requires production, Sanders has not caught a pass in each of the past two seasons. Penn State added three wide receivers through the transfer portal last season, in part due to a failure at position development on the roster.

Sanders got some playing time as a punt returner on special teams, but he returned 17 punts for 113 yards in 2023 and 2024 before being benched on special teams. Sanders will miss the entire 2025 season due to a long-term injury.

Sanders will join a number of Penn State players entering the transfer portal during the program’s transition period. The latest names to enter the transfer portal include freshman quarterback Bekkem Kritza.
