The New England Patriots face multiple injuries this week as the team is monitoring the status of quarterback Derek Meyer, outside linebacker Harold Landry and linebacker Robert Spillane.

These players were on the Super Bowl injury report last week. Meyer has been dealing with a right shoulder injury, while Landry is battling a knee injury and Spillane has ankle issues.

Of those three, Landry was the only one who didn’t play in the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos, but Spillane did exit that game early with an injury.

As of this writing, with just hours left until Super Bowl LX against the Seattle Seahawks, here are the latest injuries to Meyer, Landry, and Spillane.

Does Drake Maye play today?

Yes, Meyer will definitely suit up on Sunday.

Meyer was able to practice fully this past week after dealing with some shoulder concerns and has been cleared from the injury report entirely, so he’s ready to play.

Based on what he said this week, Meyer’s injury doesn’t appear to be hampering his performance in this game.

“I’m really excited. Getting the chance to play in this game is a dream come true and something you work for all year,” he said this week. “Like I said, I’m not trying to lie to you guys when I say I feel good. You know, I feel good. I’m looking forward to getting out of there.”

Will Robert Spillane play today?

Yes, Spillane is expected to suit up.

Spillane did not practice at the start of the week but then participated in two limited practices and received the questionable tag.

While head coach Mike Vrabel isn’t ready to play Spillane yet, the veteran linebacker and defensive leader said he “100 percent” wants to play.

Spillane’s importance to the defense is self-evident. Not only was he a good player, he was a captain and wore the green dot.

Harold Landry injury update

As is the case with Spillane, Landry is indeed expected to overcome this problematic label.

Landry had two limited practices during the week and missed one before receiving a questionable tag. Landry’s “DNP” was sandwiched between limited meetings.

Those two limited practices were a step up for Landry, who hadn’t practiced at all before being ruled out for the AFC Championship game two weeks ago.

Landry, who has been dealing with knee issues since Week 6, said he wants to play in the Super Bowl and believes he can still help the Patriots, even though he’s not 100 percent healthy yet.

“I’m very confident that I can help the team in any way they need me to do,” he said. “This whole year has been tough in and out, and I’m just going to try to make the best of everything I’ve been through.”

Although Landry battled knee issues for much of the season, he led the team with 8.5 sacks during the regular season.

New England will need its best pass rush against the Seahawks’ superior passing attack, making Landry’s status critical.
