The New England Patriots signed linebacker Chad Muma from the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad on Monday, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
This would be a corresponding move for the team to announce linebacker Caleb Murphy off waivers.

Muma was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round with the 70th overall pick.th The No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was waived by the Jaguars in August as part of final roster cuts and was drafted by the Colts a day later. During his time in Indianapolis, he recorded five tackles for the team.
Murphy was asked to abstain on October 20. He played in five games for the Patriots, recording a total of two special teams tackles.
During his NFL tenure, Muma was primarily used on special teams. As a result, the Patriots may look to bolster their special teams unit, which struggled in Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.

He was highly touted coming out of college and will once again have a new opportunity to change the narrative of his NFL career.
