Saturday
7:45 a.m.: By this time, free agent signings will slowly dwindle. There’s nothing stopping the team from making more moves, but any player who hasn’t been signed thus far must have some reason for their negotiation process to be slowed down.

Friday
6pm: The latest indication is that the Patriots and Eagles will not pursue an A.J. Brown trade now, and the trade could heat up again closer to June.
3pm: Linebacker Anfernee Jennings, who was released by the Patriots, has not signed anywhere yet. There were rumors that the Bengals were involved, but the Cincinnati Enquirer reported that wasn’t the case.
7:45 a.m.: The Patriots have hired former Jets quarterbacks coach Charles London to their staff, NFL Insider Aaron Wilson reports.
6:45 am: As the first week of free agency begins on Friday, it’s worth noting that free agency is no longer closed now. Free agents can be signed between now and the end of the 2026 season. Things won’t move at the same pace as this week, but as the seasons change and a new season approaches, there will always be players available.

Thursday
10pm: The Patriots plan to make a draft visit with star pass rusher Romero Highter.
2:55pm: The Patriots said the current plan is to play newly signed Aaliyah Vera-Tucker at left guard and Jared Wilson at center. Of note: Wilson is wearing a Guardian hat, and no starting center has ever worn that bulky hood on his helmet.
2:23pm: The Patriots still have no signings today. They don’t have much cap space left. Worth noting: Romeo Dubs met with reporters today and said he has spoken with quarterback Derek Meyer.

12:35pm: Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that Julian Hill has a three-year contract with the Patriots worth up to $18 million.
8:35 am: Any team looking for a veteran defensive lineman with a rich history of success will have at least two options on the free agent market: Joey Bosa and Cameron Jordan.
8 a.m.: The Patriots could reportedly compete with the Denver Broncos for a potential AJ Brown trade.
6:45 am: Over The Cap breaks down the latest salary cap space for every team in the NFL — though that’s an ever-moving target and doesn’t necessarily cover every free agent signing or release situation. But for what it’s worth, the Patriots’ site was worth $31 million as of early Thursday. This still appears to be something Romeo Dubs and Kevin Baird need to consider.

1:20 pm: NFL analyst Kevin Massare had a great reminder on the X: “Clearly NFL free agency needs another reminder. The game doesn’t end at 4 p.m., it starts then. There are a ton of players who are unsigned right now, which will help a lot of good football teams this year.”

8 a.m.: Part of what makes the signing of Romeo Dubs brilliant is the impact it has on AJ Brown trade negotiations. You can read more about it via this link.
6:45 am: This is a big day in the NFL’s free agency process. There is actually no official deal yet. At 4pm ET (1pm PT) on Wednesday, the contract becomes official and players can fully join their new teams. That’s when the team will start making lots of announcements on social media. This is also the day many releases around the league become official, which could create the potential for more trades.
Tuesday
11pm: One thing worth noting is that the Patriots may have more moves coming soon, as some releases won’t actually be dealt with until the start of the league year on Wednesday. This will impact available players and cap space.

10:45 AM: As the free agent tampering window continues into day two, here’s the thing to note: Things are definitely going to be slower today. Players who don’t sign right away usually don’t sign right away for a reason. Either they really take their time on purpose or they don’t have the interest they want. There will be more deals coming, but they may be extended over the next few days.
8:37 AM: The Patriots may need a No. 2 TE, a subtle but interesting position to watch Tuesday following Austin Hooper’s departure.
7:45 a.m.: ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports that newly signed Alijah Vera-Tucker is expected to start at left guard.
6:45 am: There are some key things to note as Tuesday begins. Free agency will operate much the same way today as it did on Monday. This is still “legal tampering” time. The deal won’t be formalized until Wednesday. There are still plenty of free agents on the board, so more news should emerge throughout the day.

4:27 pm: The Patriots were active early and now just want to build around the edges.
