Patriots DT Milton Williams had two words on possible return vs. Jets

New England Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams had two words when asked if he would be ready to play this week against the New York Jets.

“We’ll see,” Williams said Tuesday.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed that Williams, who missed the last four games with an ankle injury, has entered the 21-day practice window. The move shows the star guard is one step closer to returning to the field.

The Patriots missed his leadership, defense and pass-rushing ability on the defensive line. His return will be a huge boost to the entire defense heading into the playoffs. Whether he returns this week or later will depend on how he physically performs in training.

Patriots fans obviously want to see him back for the final two games of the season. Both games could be crucial to the team’s hopes of winning the AFC East.

“I’m ready to come back. I’m ready to continue to have an impact on the game,” Williams said, via Mark Daniels of MassLive. “I feel like I was doing that before I got hurt. I just wanted to be the Milton Williams I was when I was on the court.”
