GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay signed quarterback Desmond Reed to the practice squad on Wednesday, and the Packers remained mum on how to proceed with their final regular-season game now that their playoff seeding is already set.
Packers quarterbacks Jordan Love and Malik Willis participated in practice Wednesday, but coach Matt LaFleur noted that Love is still recovering from a concussion and Willis will be limited with a shoulder issue.

“That’s what I told the team,” LaFleur said. “We have 53 spots on the roster. You can call it twice. You’ve got 48 guys that are dressed on game day. So there’s going to be some starters that aren’t going to play. Gosh, they might not suit up, they might suit up. And then you’re going to have some starters that are going to play. So basically, you’re going to find out on Sunday who’s going to play.”
The Packers (9-6-1) lost 41-24 to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday to lock up the seventh seed in the NFC playoffs for the third consecutive year. They finish the regular season Sunday at Minnesota (8-8).
Green Bay needs to add depth at quarterback due to the issues Love and Willis face.
Love has not played in a game since the second quarter of a 22-16 overtime loss to Chicago on Dec. 20. Willis played most of the game against the Bears and then started against the Ravens, but he injured his shoulder against Chicago and re-injured it against the Ravens.

Reed has made 18 career starts with the Atlanta Falcons (2022-23) and Las Vegas Raiders (2024). He was a member of Minnesota’s practice squad earlier this season.
LaFleur noted that Reed’s experience with an offense similar to Green Bay’s could help him learn the system quickly. Reed played in Atlanta for Arthur Smith, who was with LaFleur in 2018 with the Tennessee Titans. Las Vegas’ offensive coordinator last season was Luke Gacy, who was on LaFleur’s Green Bay staff from 2019-21.
“So I’ll speak some common language… He seems like a smart guy and we’ll see how quickly he picks it up,” LaFleur said.
Green Bay’s only other quarterback was Clayton Tune, who was activated from the practice squad against the Ravens and finished 1-for-4 for eight yards and an interception.

LaFleur also said Wednesday that cornerback Nate Hobbs and safety Zahn Anderson are unlikely to play again this season. Hobbs suffered a knee injury against the Ravens and Anderson suffered an ankle injury.
