Bryce Boettcher has brought stability to the linebacker position for the Oregon Ducks over the past three seasons, totaling 236 tackles in his career. But once he graduates, someone else has to step up.
There is a lot of talent at this position on the roster, although much of it is unproven.

Braylon Hodge and Tristan Phillips are two four-star linebackers incoming in 2026, with another four-star linebacker likely to sign in 2027.
Toa Satele, a four-star linebacker from Mililani, Hawaii, announced the final three schools he is considering recruiting. The Class of 2027 has his sights set on staying on the West Coast as he lists the USC Trojans, Cal Bears and Oregon Ducks as his top three.
Hawaii’s top-rated recruit had been in talks with USC and Oregon State, but that changed when former Ducks defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi was hired as Cal’s head coach.

Sattler noted in an interview with Rivals’ Adam Gorney that Lupoi’s performance with the Bears put them on his list, but Oregon State is still on it.
“All colleges are going through some coaching changes, and I feel like it’s like when a player goes down, the next coach has to come up,” Satelle said.
“Tosh’s departure was a big key to their success, but Oregon State has a great environment, especially the fans and everyone involved in the game, how much love they showed me and my family, what they did with their game day visits, their coaches and their plans for the future.”
Although both USC and Cal are pursuing Sattler, head coach Dan Lanning and his staff still have a good chance of landing the No. 3 linebacker in the class of 2027, according to the 247 Sports Composite.
