The Oregon baseball team plays Vanderbilt today in its final game of the Live Like Lou Las Vegas College Baseball Classic. Vandy, ranked No. 22 in the Baseball Coaches Poll, powered the Ducks to victory on the back of a strong start from R-So. Right HP Carl Scolari.
Scolari took the mound for the Ducks, and Nate Taylor took the mound for the Commodores.

Maddox Moloney Oregon State hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning to put Oregon State on top.
Nate Taylor pitched a solid at-bat and led off in the count, while the Ducks’ hitters adjusted by swinging faster in the pitch count. In the 3rd session, angel raya Swinging on the first pitch thrown to him. A sacrifice bunt brought him to second base, then Ryan Cooney Swinging for an RBI double on the third pitch.
Jax Jimenez Hitted his first ball and brought Cooney home. At the end of the first quarter, the Ducks led 3-0.
Meanwhile, Scolari had a great game and stopped Vandy from getting out.
The Commodores’ Taylor stayed in the game and Oregon State kept attacking him. The fourth time, it was Burke Lee Mabus That sent a solo shot over the left field fence.
Oddly enough, Vanderbilt kept Taylor on the mound until the fifth inning. This time Oregon fell behind in order and the score stayed at 4-0 through five innings.

The defense was helped by Carl Scolari, who held Vandy scoreless in six innings and got off to a great start against a very good SEC team.
Oregon State’s bats weren’t done yet for Taylor, as the Ducks struck out a couple of solo pitches to their first two batters in the bottom of the sixth inning. first one to see Dominic Herman Get involved:

Toby Twist Taking the mound in the seventh inning, and while Vandy was quiet in that inning, they took it to Twist with two outs in the eighth.
Luke Morgan He breathed a sigh of relief and immediately hit another home run.
Morgan finally won the third game, and Oregon took a slim 6-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth. The Ducks scored runs in the second and third innings but were unable to do anything and we still had a two-run lead going into the ninth.

Just three outs. That’s what the Ducks need.
Morgan walked Vandy’s leadoff batter and that was his out. left handed Blake Crawford Come to the mountains and see if he can beat the Commodores and come home victorious. He walked the batter and Vandy now had two on base and no outs.
Crawford was replaced by the right wing Devin Bell. Bell added another double after Mabius caught a foul ball with the first out. Fortunately, this game did not follow yesterday’s trend. Bell struck out, and Vandy hit a fly ball from right field to give the Ducks a 6-4 win.
The Ducks will rush home for a game against Oregon State at PK Park before heading to West Lafayette for a Big Ten weekend series against the Purdue Boilermakers.
