INDEPENDENCE, Wis. (WFRV) – Wisconsin officials found a man dead while investigating a garage fire on New Year’s Eve.
According to a news release from the Independence Police Department, a 911 call came in about a garage fire around 8:30 p.m.

First responders from multiple agencies responded to the scene and found a man’s body inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the case is under investigation; however, foul play is not suspected.
