No. 17 Mississippi State (21-6, 8-4 SEC) defeated No. 21 Tennessee (16-8, 8-4 SEC) 94-81 on Tuesday at Sandy and John Black Pavilion in Oxford, Mississippi.
The Rebels led 44-33 at halftime, handing the Lady Vols their second straight loss.

Talessia Cooper totaled 30 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. She made 12 of 26 shots, 2 of 7 three-pointers, and 4 of 5 free throws. Cooper was one of three Tennessee players to score 10 or more points against the Rebels, a game that was rescheduled from Jan. 26 due to inclement weather.
Lauren Hurst scored a career-high 16 points for the Lady Vols. She also added nine rebounds, two rebounds and two assists, while Alyssa Latham had 10 points, two rebounds and one assist for Tennessee, which committed 16 turnovers against Mississippi State. The Rebels committed 15 turnovers.
Cody McMahon led all scorers with 39 points. She also had a double-double for the University of Mississippi, with 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
