Miami County prosecutors on Friday approved the release of the nearly eight-minute-long 911 call, which had been withheld, citing part of the investigative transcript required by Ohio law.

On the phone, Caleb Flynn told dispatchers that someone broke into his Cunningham Court home early Monday morning.

“Oh my God, someone, someone broke into my house. Someone broke into my house and shot my wife,” he told the dispatcher.

He added that his wife, Ashley, was lying in bed and had been shot “twice” in the head.

Flynn then told the dispatcher that the garage door was open and his daughter was home.

“I was with the kids when it happened,” he told the dispatcher, adding that they were sleeping in the room.

The dispatcher asked him if he saw anyone else in the house.

“No, it’s dark in here and the door is locked,” he replied. “When I ran in, the door to the garage door was open.”

The dispatcher later asked him to check on his children. After being asked to do so a third time, Caleb said they were still sleeping and didn’t have any visible wounds.

As previously reported, Ashley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Caleb Flynn was arrested and charged with one count of homicide, two counts of felonious assault and two counts of tampering with evidence, Tipp City Police Chief Greg Adkins said Thursday.

“The Tipp City Police Department appreciates the community’s patience and support while this collaborative investigative team worked diligently on this complex case. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the many agencies that assisted and continue to assist in this investigation involving a tragic loss of life,” Adkins said.

Authorities found probable cause to charge Caleb with murder; however, specific details of the investigation have not been released because the investigation is ongoing.

He is being held at the Miami County Jail on $2 million bail.
