STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR) – On Wednesday, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) announced the arrest of an employee who diverted fentanyl from a patient.
According to OBN, on Friday, January 16, investigators assigned to the facility’s Tulsa triage unit identified the employee as CRNA (registered nurse anesthetist) Daniel Boring after receiving information from Stillwater Medical Center.
“What our agents discovered was shocking and demonstrated a blatant disregard for the safety of the patients entrusted to his care,” said OBN Director Donnie Anderson. “We discovered multiple incidents where Boring ingested fentanyl into his system while working in a hospital operating room. After ingesting fentanyl, Boring would assist patients during medical procedures. One of the instances involved a minor child and another 84-year-old adult.”
