Isaiah Salinda will not compete in this weekend’s Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. However, the 28-year-old PGA Tour golfer did do his best to perform well in the second round, which included trying to save par in unique fashion.
Salinda’s tee shot on the 17th hole went into the water to the right of the green. Rather than being penalized for the errant shot, he decided to hit the ball while it was in the water. This means taking off his shoes, socks and even his shirt to keep him as dry as possible.
The shot gave Salinda a chance to save par on the par-3 hole. He would miss his first putt and end up with a bogey.

Salinda finished the second round at 5-over par for a +11 overall score, which ranked him 121st out of 122 golfers. He started his round with a birdie but quickly fell apart when he shot an 8 on the par-4 11th hole.
After joining the PGA Tour in 2025, Salinda made 23 of 41 cuts and has career earnings of just under $2 million.
