Jaxon Willits and Nolan Stevens connected on back-to-back doubles to tie the game, and Trey Gambill followed with a sacrifice fly to give Oklahoma the final lead it needed. Cayden Brumbaugh led off with an RBI double to score Willits, and Alec Blair plated Stevens on an RBI grounder, giving the Sooners’ pitchers plenty to work with.
Coach Skip Johnson used a committee approach in Oklahoma State’s fourth game in four days. Only Jason Bodine pitched more than an inning in the seventh and eighth. Isaac Williams struck out two in the sixth inning to earn the win.
Willetts and Stevens scored more RBIs in the second on sacrifice fly balls and grounders. Deitan LaChance also cleared the bases with a double in the third inning.
Brumbo was the only Oklahoma State player to finish the game with more than one hit as Oklahoma State put in a lot of work between stops. The lineup allowed 12 home runs and only seven hits.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Norman but was actually played at Globe Life Field. But construction at Oklahoma’s home court forced a move, and Oklahoma has arrived in Arlington, Texas, after three games over the weekend. The Sooners will have their true home opener on Friday when Coppin State visits Kingley Family Stadium for a three-game weekend.
