ISTANBUL (AP) — Fenerbahce have completed the transfer of World Cup winner N’Golo Kante after his arrival at the Turkish club was delayed due to administrative issues.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Fenerbahce Chairman Saduddin Salan on Wednesday thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for “the important support he has provided to ensure a positive outcome of this process.”

Kante joins from Saudi Professional League team Al-Ittihad.
The deal looked all but dead on Tuesday when Fenerbahce blamed the Al-Ittihad for the failed move. Fenerbahce said the deal initially could not be completed due to an administrative error by the Saudi Arabian club.
But Al-Ittihad later posted a farewell message on X, saying he agreed to “sell” the remainder of Kante’s contract.
The 34-year-old Kante, who joined the Etihad in 2023, recently returned to the French national team and made his 65th appearance for France in the 4-0 win over Ukraine in November. In 2018, Kante won the World Cup with the French team.
