Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
What’s at stake for the Panthers: If the Panthers win or draw, the NFC South and the No. 4 seed are theirs anyway. If they lose, then they need help as detailed below.
What’s at stake for the Buccaneers: If the Buccaneers win, they would still need the Falcons to lose or tie Sunday against the Saints to lock up the NFC South and the No. 4 seed. If both the Buccaneers and Falcons win, the NFC South division will be tied at 8-9, with the tiebreaker going to the Panthers.

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers
What’s at stake for the Seahawks: If the Seahawks win or draw, they’ll lock up the NFC West division and the No. 1 seed.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans
What’s at stake for the Colts: Nothing but a chance to ruin their opponent’s chances of competing for the division title. Even Indianapolis’ current No. 18 first-round pick will be sent to the Jets next spring thanks to the Sauce Gardner trade.
What are the dangers Texans face: If the Texans win and the Jaguars lose, the Texans win the AFC South.
Will both teams give it their all? The Texans certainly will. As for the Colts, the only big player news is that rookie sixth-round quarterback Riley Leonard will start in place of Philip Rivers. So it sounds like both teams are going to be as close to full strength as possible.

Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
What are the dangers Titan faces: This is just an opportunity to spoiler, or potentially lock up the No. 2 pick in the draft with a win or loss by the Giants, Jets and Cardinals.
What’s at stake for the Jaguars: a lot of. If the Jaguars win or tie, they will win the AFC South title regardless. They can also win the game via a Texans loss or tie. Jacksonville also has a chance to be the top seed in the AFC, which would require a win and a loss from the Broncos and Patriots.
Will both teams give it their all? Jaguar definitely is. The Titans also haven’t indicated they will schedule anyone.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
What’s at stake for the Cowboys: Draft positioning in the middle of the first round and a chance to jump into a more promising 2026 year.
What’s at stake for the Giants: The Giants still have a chance to get the No. 1 pick in the draft. They have to lose, the Raiders have to win, and at least two of the following teams have to win, too: Seahawks, Falcons, Browns and Bears. This is also interim coach Mike Kafka’s last chance to prove himself as the permanent head coach.
Will both teams give it their all? Dallas will return its starters, including Dak Prescott, but Jerry Jones hinted Tuesday that he might not play much. The Cowboys also just waived cornerback Trevon Diggs, so they appear to have a head start on their offseason moves. The Giants, meanwhile, plan to get their starters on the field.
Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals
What’s at stake for the Browns: The Browns can get the No. 2 pick in the draft via win-plus-win with the Giants, Jets, Titans and Cardinals. They currently hold the sixth overall pick.

What dangers do Bengal tigers face: Regardless, Cincinnati will either settle for the bottom half of the top 10 or the early teens.
Will both teams give it their all? So far, the Bengals and Browns have both said their starters will be available for Week 18 games.
Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings
What are the risks to Packers: there is nothing. The Packers clinched the seventh seed in the NFC.
What dangers faced the Vikings: Mid-first round draft positioning. The Vikings will draft players in their late teens or early twenties.
Will both teams give it their all? The Packers haven’t decided whether to play their starters yet, though they should at least have quarterback Jordan Love available even if he clears concussion protocol this week as expected. The Vikings, meanwhile, have yet to indicate their plans.

New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons
What are the dangers facing the Saints: Tyler Shough, the Offensive Rookie of the Year, is optimistic about 2026. Shaugh has performed well since becoming the starter, and the Saints ended Kellen Moore’s first season with four straight wins. They’re locked in with a late top-10 or early-teens first-round pick.
What’s at stake for the Falcons: For the Falcons themselves? Rarely, their first-round pick this year was taken away by the Rams thanks to the James Pierce Jr. trade last spring. But what about the NFC South? This is where things go into full morbid mode.

If the Buccaneers defeat the Panthers on Saturday, the fate of the NFC South rests in the hands of the Falcons. If they win, the Panthers will be the division champions anyway, as the top three teams will be tied at 8-9, with the Panthers owning the tiebreaker. If the Falcons lose, the Buccaneers will win the division title. Yes…hahaha… Yes!
Will both teams give it their all? This is one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL. Both teams appear to be using their starters, and that’s not expected to change.
Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots
What dangers do dolphins face: A chance to deprive the Patriots of the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a win. Mike McDaniel’s last chance as head coach in 2026. The same goes for draft positioning, as a draft pick could fall anywhere in the top 10.

What’s at stake for the Patriots: There are two scenarios that could give the Patriots the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Either they win and the Broncos lose or tie, or they tie and the Broncos lose.
Will both teams give it their all? The Patriots are expected to play the Broncos at the same time on Sunday. The Dolphins, meanwhile, have not said they will sit anyone and may want to take another look at rookie seventh-round quarterback Quinn Ewers.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos
What’s at stake for the charger: Fasten your seat belt. Of the 64 possible AFC playoff seeding scenarios, 18 have the Chargers finishing fifth (28%), 30 have the Chargers finishing sixth (47%), and 16 have the Chargers finishing seventh (25%). pleasure!

What’s at stake for the Broncos: It’s simple: win and they’re the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Beyond that, they can still lock up the top seed with a tie and a loss or tie against the Patriots. They can also lose, as long as the Patriots lose and the Jaguars lose or tie.
Will both teams give it their all? The Broncos will almost certainly do that, with head coach Sean Payton describing Sunday as “like a playoff game” and emphasizing the importance of the all-time No. 1 seed. Meanwhile, the Chargers are resting quarterback Justin Herbert, who suffered a fracture in his non-throwing hand in Week 13. Considering how many injuries they’ve suffered this season, they’ll likely be resting even more starters.

What dangers do commanders face: The Commanders’ chances of landing the second overall pick remain slim. They need to lose, and they need the Giants, Jets, Titans, Cardinals and Browns to all win. Not likely. But maybe!

What’s at stake for the Eagles: In Week 18 NFC scenarios, the Eagles earned the No. 2 seed 25% of the time (16 of 64). All of which requires the Eagles to win and the Bears to lose. Otherwise they’re the No. 3 seed, as the Bears have the immediate tiebreaker.
Will both teams give it their all? Philadelphia probably isn’t. Head coach Nick Sirianni said the Eagles are still considering bringing back some starters, which they did last season even though they were locked in the No. 2 seed at the time. The Commanders are expected to return starters, with head coach Dan Quinn suggesting injuries are the only thing keeping players out.
Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears
What is at stake for Lions clubs: Only this opportunity could help the Bears lose their spot as the second seed in the NFC. The Lions will select junior players in the first round of the NFL draft.

What are the risks in a bear market: If the Bears win, no matter what, they’ll be the NFC’s No. 2 seed with a tiebreaker against the Eagles. If the Bears lose, they can still lock up the No. 2 seed if the Eagles lose to the Commanders.
Will both teams give it their all? Lions head coach Dan Campbell said his starters will play as long as they don’t risk long-term injuries and that it’s in line with the team’s ethos of getting everyone on the field. Meanwhile, Bears head coach Ben Johnson said Monday, “Our goal this week is to win.” So it sounds like Chicago will be competing for the No. 2 seed.
New York Jets at Buffalo Bills
What’s at stake for the Jets: A Jets loss and a Giants win would net the No. 2 pick. Even though ownership indicated he would be back, it probably wouldn’t hurt for head coach Aaron Glenn to finish the season on a good note after some truly ugly losses this season.

What’s at stake for Bill: The remaining 37.5% of the time, the Bills can move up to the fifth or sixth seed, so they have to win and let the other outcomes come to them as they may.
Will both teams give it their all? Buffalo is still deciding whether its starters will play, according to head coach Sean McDermott. As for the Jets, well, they’re in full-on figuring out who wants to be here next year, so in a sense, you could say they’re “working on it.”
Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams
What’s at stake for the Cardinals: The Cardinals can still get the second overall pick if the Giants, Jets and Titans win or lose.

What’s at stake for the Rams: The Rams need to win (and need the Seahawks to win) to have a chance at the No. 5 seed, a spot they’ll earn in 25 percent of remaining NFC scenarios. Otherwise they would be the sixth seed.
Will both teams give it their all? Rams head coach Sean McVay said he won’t rest his starters in Week 18, which makes sense considering how disorganized his team has looked in recent weeks. However, if the 49ers win on Saturday and the Rams lock up the sixth seed, there’s a good chance the Rams’ starters won’t play the full game. The Cardinals, meanwhile, have not said they will schedule anyone.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders
What’s at stake for the Chiefs: The Chiefs could lock up a top-10 pick with a loss. This could be the last game of Travis Kelce’s career, and he hopes to end it with a win. Other than that, there’s not much else going on in this rare losing season for Kansas City.

What’s at stake for the Raiders: If the Raiders lose, they’ll lock up the No. 1 pick in the draft. Things get more dangerous if they win, but there are still several scenarios that could make them the first choice.
Will both teams give it their all? Andy Reid said his starters will be available for the game. As for the Raiders, that’s trickier. Pete Carroll did not directly say that the starters will not play this week. Then again, Maxx Crosby seemed a little defiant about being sidelined with a knee injury, while Brock Bowers was placed on injured reserve as he’s been battling a knee injury all season. So at the very least, the Raiders look ready to close out this campaign. Of course, this is good for their draft status.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
What are the dangers crows face: If the Ravens win, they’ll be the AFC North champion and the No. 4 seed. If they lose or tie, they’re out of the playoffs.
