The Philadelphia Eagles have long had a reputation as one of the league’s top teams. However, no team is perfect. Sometimes, there is some debate about their performance in talent development.
This may be a little unfair. Every team has its own successes and failures. However, when it comes to Philly’s roster, one thing we can usually rely on is the talent they’ve found at the tight end position. The Jays have gone from Chad Lewis and L.J. Smith to Brent Celek and Zach Ertz. Last season, Dallas Goedert set a franchise record for touchdowns in a regular season at the tight end position.

Goedert, Grant Calcatra and Kellen Grantham are all players set to become free agents this season. Goedert has been described as someone the Jays want to keep.
He needs help, though, and leadership appears to be making every effort to find him some by interviewing some of the top talent around the NFL in Indianapolis. This brings us to Kenyon Sadiq, considered the top TE prospect in the 2026 draft.
Kenyon Sadiq praises Eagles at NFL Combine.
Sadiq’s final season at the NCAA level was certainly one to remember. He earned first-team All-Big Ten honors and was named the Big Ten’s tight end of the year.

In 2025, he caught 51 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns. At Thursday’s NFL combine, he said he hasn’t spoken to the Eagles yet, but expressed his admiration and said Philadelphia would be a team he’d like to play for.
For a prospect hoping to hear his name called early, the praise carries weight. This is not unfounded. At tight end, the Eagles have historically valued versatility, players who can block inside, stretch the ball and win contested catches. The role requires grinding and toughness, two traits Sadiq displayed throughout his college career.
What makes his comments intriguing is the timing. Likewise, the Eagles have been keeping a close eye on tight ends at the NFL combine, and while it looks like Sadiq may be off the board by the time the Eagles take the field, it’s at least worth noting when the top tight end in the class publicly praises your organization.
