Johnson, a native of Amory, Mississippi, played defensive tackle at LSU from 2008 to 2011. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Northwestern State University (2012-2013) before returning to LSU in various roles, including serving as defensive line coach from 2018-2019. He then spent four seasons (2020-2023) coaching Baylor’s defensive line, developing players like Siaki Ika and Gabe Hall.
Johnson entered the NFL in 2024 when the Ravens hired him to replace Anthony Weaver.
A front-seven specialist with an emphasis on run defense, he brings his familiarity with Harbaugh’s system to East Rutherford as the Giants aim to bolster their defensive front.
