The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the top running back prospects in the 2025 class. They have a deep rotation, with breakout star Bucky Irving leading the way, with Rachad White and Sean Tucker supporting him and providing their own unique skill sets to the team. All in all, this is a rare instance where a team has all the ingredients needed to compete.
That leads to today, where the team lost White to free agency and will now turn to Kenny Gamwell. They signed him as a free agent from the Pittsburgh Steelers, and now he’s poised to help the team take a more dynamic approach in the backfield with his pass catching.

In fact, it’s the catching ability that excites Gainwell.
“I’ve been working on it a lot. You know, I’m committed to doing things with my hands and my feet. I’m proud that the Lord gave me these great hands to go out and do what I do,” he explained. He also addressed the comments about his 73 catches in 2025, which is a big number for a running back. To that, he added, “Yeah, that’s a big number for a running back, especially a RB2. I’m proud of what I did…”
Gainwell could be in line for another big year as new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson introduces a system that allows both running backs to make an impact.
