Netflix games on smart TVs rely on phone controller apps
Netflix says the streaming service is introducing support for gaming on smart TVs with the latest update to the app. This means Netflix subscribers can now use their phone as a controller to play a variety of titles on their TV. Users can scroll to game A tab within the Netflix app on a smart TV.
The first games in the Netflix app include Lego Party!, Pictionary: Game Night, Boggle Party, Tetris Time Warp and Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends. These games support multiple players, which makes them ideal for playing with a group.
Up to eight players can play Boggle Party. It involves finding words in a jumbled grid of letters. LEGO Party includes mini-games that have players searching for gold through themed challenge areas.
Coloring Book: Game Night is like a classic drawing game, but also available in a more popular physical format. Tetris Time Warp involves time travel with friends from Tetris history, with the goal of getting a high score across eras. Finally, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends lets you discover a pretend player based on strange clues.
