Unseeded Vermont accomplished the feat in 2024, going six games from the first round to culminating in an overtime victory over 13th-seeded Marshall. Will we have another unexpected final in 2025?
One thing is for sure: the favorites won’t lift the trophy. Five of the top six seeds, including the defending champion Catamons, were eliminated in the second round as the tournament once again lived up to its giant-killing reputation.
There’s still plenty of football to be played before a champion can be crowned, though. Who will win this time?
The Sporting News has all the details for the 2025 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship.
