MVP’s May 16 card marks the first foray into MMA for Netflix and Paul’s promotional company. UFC Hall of Famer Rousey recently launched the card’s promotion with a noteworthy press conference in which she lambasted the UFC as “one of the worst places to make a living and get paid fairly.”

“They’re losing talent because of short-term greed,” Rousey said of the promotion that would induct her into the Hall of Fame. “They’re thinking about the next quarter. They’re thinking about shareholders, not about their responsibilities as future stewards of the sport.”
Paul and MVP co-founder Nikasa Bidarian said following Tuesday’s announcement:
“This card embodies MVP’s ethos of creating the largest, most global event in combat sports and becoming a must-see event for the mainstream while delivering a spectacular fight feast for die-hard fans. ‘Cigano’ [dos Santos] is a former UFC heavyweight champion and Brazilian icon, Saladin Parnas is France’s biggest MMA star, Mokaev is one of the best in the sport, and Larkin vs. Jackson is everything you want.
“Along with other exciting fighters from around the world, these fights make the card even bigger and reflect the truly global scale of the sport. We are continuing to prove that MVP and Netflix can create sensational live experiences that bring fans and fighters from around the world together to create the biggest night in sports. That’s what we do.”
