Multiple people hospitalized following mass shooting at South Texas beach

Early on Sunday, March 15, a shooting occurred on a beach in South Texas, leaving multiple people injured. The shooting left five people injured and sent to the hospital, first reported by the Port Aransas South Pier.

Officials spoke with South Pier early Sunday morning in an interview that was posted on the outlet’s Facebook page. Port Aransas Police Chief James Stokes said Beach Marker 20 received a call about a shooting around midnight. When the video was shared, Stokes said four people had been shot on the beach, but later informed South Pier that the actual number was five.

“[The shooting] “This appears to have been caused by an argument that occurred,” Stokes said in the video. “We do have a number of suspects in custody for questioning at this time. All of the victims have been transported to local hospitals. I have no conditions. [all]but I believe two people were seriously injured, two people were seriously injured. That’s pretty much the extent of what I have right now. “
