The Michigan State football team has begun locking in official visits for the upcoming summer recruiting period, and it welcomed a visit from a big-name prospect on Saturday.
Nehemiah Ombati, of Shakopee, Minn., announced Saturday that he is “locked” to take an official visit to Michigan State in early June. According to Ombati’s social media posts, he will visit MSU from June 5-7.

Umbati is listed as a four-star defensive lineman with a recruiting grade of 89.85 in 247Sports’ composite system. He ranks as the No. 39 defensive lineman in Minnesota’s class of 2027 and the No. 2 player overall. He was also ranked No. 337 in the class.
According to 247Sports, Michigan State extended an offer to Obati earlier this month and was one of nearly 15 schools to extend an offer to him. He also held offers from Wisconsin, Boston College, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Washington State.
As of the publication of this article, Obati has only one other official visit scheduled, a trip to Wisconsin a week before visiting Michigan State. I expect he will add a few official visits to his schedule, but right now, it appears that Michigan and Wisconsin are the two front-runners for his commitment.
