Morocco: Romain Sais announces retirement from national team

Romain Saïss has played 86 games for Morocco over 13 years, with his debut dating back to 2012. Since 2019, he has captained the Atlas Lions. Tonight, he posted a long and touching message on his social media accounts.
“Dear Moroccan fans, today I end the most beautiful chapter of my football career. After much consideration and with overwhelming emotion, I announce my retirement from international football. Wearing the Moroccan jersey and captaining the team will always be the greatest honor of my career.,” wrote THAAD (Qatar) Defender.
As captain, Romain Saïss leads Morocco and Africa to the semi-finals for the first time in history Qatar World Cup. The former player for Clermont, Le Havre, Wolves and others highlighted the potential of the current generation of players when announcing his retirement.
