Missouri needed a buzzer-beater to force overtime against Oklahoma State on Saturday and another to win the game.
Mark Mitchell’s three-point play late in the game gave the Tigers an 88-87 victory over the Sooners. After Xzayvier Brown gave Oklahoma a two-point lead, Mitchell, the Tigers’ leading scorer, rushed the court after catching an inbounds pass with less than five seconds left.
Trent Pierce hit a 3-pointer at the end of regulation when Mitchell’s basket was still on the midcourt mark. Five minutes later, Mitchell scored.

After Ty Davis made two free throws, Pierce hit a shot and Oklahoma led by three. With six seconds left in the second half, Mitchell missed a potential go-ahead basket and Davis was fouled after grabbing the rebound.
Pierce’s shot was his only shot of the game. He made 1 of 6 shots from the field and scored 4 points.
Mitchell’s three-pointer was his second attempt from beyond the arc all game. He made only 7 of 26 shots in the last game, and his shooting percentage this season is still below 30%.
He scored a team-high 25 points, while guard TO Barrett scored 21 points in his first start of the season. The win moves the Tigers to 14-6 overall and 4-3 in the SEC after losing to Georgia at home on Tuesday night.
