As we turn the page to the offseason, the future of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans remains up in the air.

Not only could the 32-year-old consider retirement, but he and the Buccaneers could also part ways as Evans is a pending free agent.

When it comes to the possibility of retiring, ESPN’s Jenna Laine reports that Evans is less likely to retire than his teammate, linebacker Lavonte David.

She also wondered if Evans might seek a change if he wanted to be in a better position to win a Super Bowl at the end of his career.

“Evans, 32, is less likely to retire [than David]”, based on conversations with those closest to him,” Lane reported. “But what does it mean for Evans to be shut out of the 2025 playoffs, knowing he only has so much time left?”

The Buccaneers endured a brutal collapse in 2025. After going 6-2, Tampa Bay has lost seven of its last nine games and missed the playoffs.

If Evans is looking for a better chance at winning a Super Bowl, he might look at teams like the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, all of which are true contenders and in need of help at wide receiver.

The Bills appear to have passed on Keon Coleman, and after the Bills failed to sign Joshua Palmer in free agency, Buffalo is left with a questionable group of pass catchers led by Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kinkaid.

In Denver, the Broncos need another veteran wide receiver to complement Courtland Sutton. The Broncos have some promising young arms but need proven additions.

The Patriots are in a similar situation to the Broncos, with New England having a solid first option in Stefon Diggs and some promising but unproven wideouts behind him.

If Evans doesn’t return to the Buccaneers, he’ll have plenty of suitors in free agency, and we expect the Patriots, Broncos, and Bills to be among them.
