Microsoft has announced that it will host the Tokyo Game Show later this month, which will showcase first-party Xbox games as well as games from third-party partners. Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 will air on September 25, the first day of the video game expo. The company will also offer attendees at the Tokyo Game Show the chance to experience its upcoming ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X handheld devices.

Xbox Tokyo Game Show Announced

The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 showcase will be broadcast live on September 25 at 7pm JST (3am PT / 6am ET / 11am UK / 3:30pm IST) via the official Tokyo Game Show YouTube channel, as well as select Xbox social channels. The show will unveil Xbox games being developed by Microsoft’s creative teams and other third-party studios, with a focus on Japanese-style content and games developed in Asia. The Tokyo Game Show will be held from September 25th to 28th.

Additionally, Microsoft confirmed in an Xbox Wire post on Monday that fans attending the Tokyo show will be able to experience first-hand Xbox Game Studios’ upcoming game Ninja Gaiden 4. The hack-and-slash game will be available at the Koei Tecmo booth during the Tokyo Game Show. Attendees can also get hands-on experience with ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X at the Republic of Gamers booth.

what to expect

Xbox has yet to reveal details about the games that will be showcased during the show, but a report from Windows Central last month claimed that the next Forza Horizon game could be announced at the Tokyo Game Show. Microsoft and Playground Games reportedly plan to showcase Forza Horizon 6 at the event.

Xbox has yet to reveal details about the next Forza Horizon game, but Xbox CEO Phil Spencer said earlier this year that the game would be released in 2026.

Leaks from August also suggested that Forza Horizon 6 might be set in Japan, which would make the Tokyo Game Show the perfect place to launch the game. A Forza Horizon developer has reportedly been spotted taking photos of Kei cars, which are primarily manufactured and sold in Japan, leading many to believe the arcade racing series is coming to the Asian country.

Considering that the game will be played at the Tokyo Game Show, “Ninja Gaiden 4” may also be broadcast during the broadcast. The action game will be released on October 21, 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
