Losing a long snapper to the transfer portal might not raise a lot of eyebrows, but true freshman starter Jake Wills entering the portal is somewhat noteworthy. The former five-star tight end entered the portal Monday after one season with the Michigan State football team.
Wells, who hails from Hudsonville, Mich., is the No. 2 long snapper in the 2025 class and has started for the Spartans from day one. However, there have been a lot of changes on the Spartans’ special teams, with longtime Iowa assistant LeVar Woods taking over the reins.
