Menasha man charged with child porn production, allegedly sent New York teen sexual images

MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – A 20-year-old Menasha man faces two child sex crime charges after allegedly sending explicit images to a 13-year-old child in New York while convincing the child to send some images in return.

The charges were filed in a criminal indictment filed on December 23, 2025 against Zakaria Adam, according to Brad Schimel, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

The criminal complaint alleges that Adam used a popular 2025 social media app to communicate with a 13-year-old in New York between April 15 and April 24. He allegedly sent explicit images of his genitals to the child while convincing the child to send photos of himself.

Adam was charged with the following crimes:

  • Production of child pornography

    • If convicted: Up to 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Minimum five years, up to lifetime supervised release.

  • Transmit obscene material to minors

    • If convicted: Up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Supervised release can last up to three years.

If convicted of either charge, Adam will have to register as a sex offender.
