GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – On Thursday, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Major Offender Task Force (MOTF) located and arrested a wanted man and two other adults on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, paraphernalia used to distribute illegal drugs and a handgun.
The wanted suspect, Jason Soper, 38, is said to be on parole from the Colorado Department of Corrections years after being convicted on multiple drug and weapons charges.
MOTF received information that Soper was located at a hotel in the 700 block of Horizon Drive. At around 7 p.m., MOTF members attempted to contact Soper in his hotel room and arrested him after making multiple loud noises.
Two other adults, Kyle Billings, 38, and Saleah Campbell, 29, were found in the same hotel room and arrested without incident.
When officers searched the room, they found more than three-quarters of a pound of a white crystalline substance tentatively identified as methamphetamine, drug distribution paraphernalia and a handgun loaded with several rounds of ammunition.
The three suspects, all from Grand Junction, were transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility for the following reasons:
