Blank announced Monday that the team will create a president of football position.
The president’s job is to develop the vision and image for the Falcons.
“The final decision will rest with the chairman of football,” Blanc said in a letter to fans on Monday. “The new president of football will report directly to me. We plan to move quickly on this appointment so that the new president of football can be fully involved in selecting leaders for our new head coach and general manager positions.”

If they go with Ryan, the Falcons legend will know the ins and outs of this organization.
Atlanta selected Ryan with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Boston College.
The quarterback still holds franchise records for passing yards, completions and touchdown passes. He won the Most Valuable Player Award in 2016 and led the Falcons to the Super Bowl.
Ryan’s career in Atlanta ended when the team traded him to the Colts in 2022. He played one season in Indianapolis before signing a one-day contract to retire with the Falcons.
