The anger on both sides intensified toward the end of South Alabama’s win over Coastal Carolina on Wednesday. With just over five minutes left in the game, a massive brawl broke out on the pitch, resulting in a referee being knocked out and several people being ejected.
Coastal Carolina’s Tracy Houston and South Alabama’s Cordacia Harris appear to be at the center of that battle.
Houston was ejected from the game and seven South Alabama players were ejected from the game. Harris, Daniela Gonzalez and Amiah Sutton were among the players reportedly expelled from South Alabama. These three players are not only the team’s starters, but are South Alabama’s top three scorers this season.

According to Crag Stephenson of AL.com, Jeriyah Baines, Saneea Bevley, Terrin Coffil and Princess Ojafor Nwese were all ejected for leaving the bench during the game.
Ejections for fighting can carry a one-game suspension, so South Alabama could face a significant absence in its next game after beating Coastal Carolina 80-70 on Wednesday.
With the win, South Alabama advances to the third round of the Sun Belt Tournament. That team — or what’s left of it — will face Texas State on Thursday.
