Manchester City leave Manchester and travel to Salford Fringe where they will face Manchester United at Old Trafford. After three consecutive Premier League draws at the start of 2026, the Blues returned to winning ways, beating Exeter 10-1 in the FA Cup and heading into Wembley after defeating Newcastle at St James’ Park in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday night.
Manchester City is unbeaten in 13 games in all competitions and had a perfect December. Their last loss was a 0-2 loss at home to Bayer Leverkusen. The Blues will go into this game undoubtedly boosted by the arrival of Manchester United’s one-time target Antoine Semenho and the addition of Crystal Palace defender Mark Gay. Semenho has scored twice in the first two games (technically three goals if there is no VAR), and signing Gueshi will strengthen the defense, especially in times of defensive crisis.

Manchester United’s current state is in chaos. The latest savior to arrive at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim, has been sacked and now club ‘legend’ Michael Carrick is tasked with rescuing United’s season from mid-table obscurity.
They have won three of their last 13 games and lost to Grimsby in the Carabao Cup without playing any European football competition. Brighton knocked them out of the FA Cup last weekend and all they have to do now is get high and the Reds will be desperate to get past the Blues to keep their conference league aspirations alive.
There is no doubt that Manchester City will be the favorites in this derby, but they need to be wary of Manchester United playing in the first of seventeen remaining cup finals.

As always, be vigilant on Derby Day. Manchester City are in good form and United are in shambles. Well, that’s a win for Manchester United, isn’t it? I think we will win this game, although I really want to go 6-1 again, but I will take any victory at Old Trafford without 1 goal.

A hard-fought game ended in victory for the mighty Blues. New substitute Antoine Semenho scored again in the second game, but the goal was disallowed when the nail on Haaland’s right little finger deflected offside. Cut your nails, Erling!
Thomas’ lack of confidence in our defense (which was all part of the blue team) ended up winning 2-1, while Will won 2-2. Peter got a bonus point (we think Christmas is a time for miracles) because he predicted a 3-1 win, so he got 2 points for the correct goal difference (being only 3 points behind Sol, which made him dizzy).
