Barcelona have started looking ahead to the summer transfer window and it should be a busy period for the Catalans. They hope to return to La Liga’s 1:1 rules before the end of the season and if they achieve this it will give them a sense of normalcy in the market.
Barcelona are looking to add a new centre-back and forward to their squad in Hansi Flick, while also having to make decisions on loan signings Marcus Rashford and Joao Cancelo. The former can be signed for 30 million euros, and at this stage he is likely to stay at Spotify permanently.

Barcelona are very much prepared to activate the €30m purchase option in their agreement with Manchester United, with Manchester United manager Michael Carrick speaking out on the club’s summer transfer business earlier this week. He is keen for Rashford to return to Old Trafford, although his attention has now turned to finding a replacement.

“It’s very possible (to sign a left winger). I think you’re always looking for balance in the team and the roster to get the most flexibility, so it’s definitely something to consider.”
Considering the impact Rashford has had this season, it makes sense for him to stay at Barcelona. €30 million is a lot of money considering their current financial situation, but it’s good value for a proven team player capable of winning games on his own.
