Manchester City: Star player announces long-term absence
At a press conference on Tuesday, Guardiola announced that one of his key players would be out for a long period of time.
Manchester City’s form has improved in recent weeks. In attack, Guardiola can proudly say that almost his entire squad, from Erling Haaland to Phil Foden, is fit and healthy. Belgium international Jeremy Doku has made a strong start to the season and has proven to be indispensable on the wing. However, City Citizens will have to cope without the Belgian winger for the remainder of their matches.

Indeed, on the eve of the Carabao Cup quarter-final home clash with Brentford, Guardiola confirmed the former Rennes man would be out for the next three weeks. “Jeremy will be out. Jeremy is out, John (Stones) and Rodri are out. I think the others will be ready. I don’t know (exactly when Doku will return). Maybe against Sunderland (January 1, 9pm), for sure…” the manager told a news conference.
