Manchester United have no plans to reverse their decision to release veteran midfielder Casemiro at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old Brazilian announced in January that he would leave the club when his £350,000-a-week contract expired.

Despite his performances this season, United have concluded that they will not offer the former Real Madrid midfielder a new contract and he will move on a free transfer.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has previously expressed doubts about Casemiro’s £18.2m-a-year salary, with the 73-year-old vowing to reduce costs.
This is believed to be the reason for the decision not to trigger Casemiro’s contract option, with United hoping to make a decision as early as possible to allow them to continue with long-term squad reforms.
Casemiro requested that the news be made public to avoid any confusion at the end of the season.

However, since then, Casemiro has delivered a series of outstanding performances.
He scored his seventh goal of the season against Aston Villa on Sunday, six of which were headed.
The midfielder celebrated in front of the Stretford Stand by repeatedly pointing to the club crest on his shirt.
Supporters responded by singing “One more year, Casemiro” and repeated the song after the final whistle as the players made their way to the tunnel.
Captain Bruno Fernandez and defender Lenny Yoro both expressed their hope after the game that Casemiro would stay at the club.
However, sources told BBC Sport the club have no plans to re-evaluate their decision.

Interim head coach Michael Carrick also said Casemiro’s future at Old Trafford will not undergo a U-turn.
“When things are decided it will be easier and everyone will understand the situation,” Carrick said.
“The impact he’s had through his influence in the team and the big moments and goals he’s had is huge.
“It was a great moment with the supporters at the end. He will enjoy it.”
