Manchester United have announced that season ticket prices at Old Trafford will rise by 5% next season.
After spending more than £200m in the transfer market last summer, the club intends to invest the extra revenue in football and facilities.

But United were criticized by the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust for removing 600 fans from the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand to make way for additional, more lucrative hospitality seats.
Manchester United, who are on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League, said they had consulted the Fans Advisory Committee and season ticket holders would not pay more than one-nineteenth of the season ticket price for any European home games.
But a MUST spokesman said: “It is disappointing that clubs have ignored our calls for a freeze on ticket prices as part of the FSA’s league-wide campaign. Fans are paying more and more to watch their teams and as the FSA campaign says: enough is enough.”

“We also understand that there are now over 600 loyal fans who have been touched by the increased hospitality. These people will understandably be angry and need the club to treat them better than those who experienced the same thing last year.”
“Having said that, we are delighted that the club listened to some of our concerns and there are no further restrictions on season ticket holders forwarding tickets, nor an increase in minimum usage rules. Football clubs make better decisions when they listen to their fans – they should be doing more!”
