Former New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones had a hilarious quote when asked about his time with the team.
Jones’ best year came as a rookie in 2021, when he got the chance to serve as offensive coordinator alongside Josh McDaniels. In his first NFL season, he threw for 3,801 yards, 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, making the Pro Bowl.

McDaniels then left the Patriots to become head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. After McDaniels left, Jones never regained his previous level of performance in New England. Former coach Bill Belichick made some questionable decisions, including hiring former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia as a playmaker.
“Yeah, thanks, Josh,” Jones sagely said when McDaniels was brought back to Las Vegas on the NFL Network show. Industry insiders.
One has to wonder what things would have been like if McDaniels had never left the Patriots. Would the team continue to have a level of success with Jones at quarterback?
