Looking ahead at Notre Dame Football’s roster management for 2026

With Notre Dame’s 2025 college football season coming to an abrupt end, we can start looking at roster management and the possibility of NFL Draft entries and transfer portal trades. Notre Dame’s 2026 recruiting class has been signed and finalized, and aside from the increased possibility of 2027 QB Teddy Jarrard reclassifying to the 2026 class, these are the only 27 players guaranteed to be on the 2026 roster.

Below is the 2026 scholarship chart. Each name listed in the chart is a player currently eligible for 2026 and has not yet publicly declared for the NFL Draft or the transfer portal. No doubt it will change a lot in the coming months – but this is what we have now.

We can speculate on which positions the Irish would pursue in the portal, and if you guessed it would be wide receiver and defensive tackle – you’d probably be right. Names like Michigan State WR Nick Marsh and Wake Forest DT Mateen Ibirogba will be discussed a lot, but no matter what discussion we have, it’s going to be very hot when the transfer portal opens from January 2 to when it closes on January 16.
