LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Liverpool defender Connor Bradley will undergo surgery after suffering a “serious” knee injury, the Premier League club said Sunday.
Bradley picked up the injury during Thursday’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal.

Liverpool said Bradley will undergo surgery in the coming days and then begin his recovery.
“At this stage, there is no timetable for his return to competition,” the company said in a statement.
During a stoppage-time clearance against Arsenal, Bradley landed awkwardly on his left knee and rolled in pain near the touchline.
Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli prompted an angry reaction from Liverpool’s players when he tried to push Bradley off in the final seconds in an attempt to keep the game going.
He has since apologized.
“Connor and I have messaged and I have apologized to him,” Martinelli wrote in an Instagram post. “I really don’t understand how he got seriously injured in the heat of the moment.

“I would like to say that I am deeply sorry for my reaction. Once again, I wish Connor a speedy recovery.”
Former England and Manchester United defender Gary Neville called Martinelli’s behavior “absolutely disgraceful” in commentary for Sky Sports.
