Live road closures, school closures, power outages in Lane County

A powerful storm driven by atmospheric rivers swept through Lane County overnight, downing trees and causing power outages.

At 4:30 a.m., the Oregon Department of Transportation issued a warning for the Coast and Willamette Valley, reporting downed trees and other hazards making travel hazardous.

As of 7:30 a.m., the Eugene Water and Power Department reported 326 customers were without power.

Lane Electric reported 100% of customers in Blue River, Lorane, McKenzie Bridge and Vida were without power. A total of 4,584 Lane Electric customers experienced outages across the territory.

Blachly-Lane reported that 564 customers were without power in its service area, with the highest percentage of outages in Walton, Elmira and Deadwood.

School closures and delays

Lincoln County School District: All schools and campuses are closed.

Mapleton School District: School is delayed 2 hours and preschool is canceled.

South Lane School District: Dorena Elementary School is 2 hours late.

Crow-Applegate-Lorain School District: School is delayed for 2 hours. Skipping breakfast or pre-school care.

McKenzie School District: All schools are closed today.

Oak Ridge School District: School is delayed for 2 hours.
