Quarterback JJ McCarthy is out with a hand injury, which means undrafted rookie Max Brosmer will start. Brosmer previously started against Seattle in Week 12 and performed poorly, passing for 4.2 yards per pass attempt and only 126 yards and 4 catches.

Two of Minnesota’s top running backs, Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason, are dealing with ankle injuries, and the offensive line is also hurt.
Stud left tackle Christian Darrisaw was placed on IR and Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly is likely to be out after suffering his third concussion of the year.
The Vikes have built a 3-0 straight lead in their last three games. However, they had done so just once in the seven games before that. They won’t be able to keep up with the Lions’ explosive offense under Brosmer.

The Lions have struggled to find room to run lately, so they need to move the ball through the air. Jared Goff has thrown for over 250 yards in eight straight games, including a 284-yard performance in Week 9 against Minnesota.
Jameson Williams has 70 or more receiving yards in six of his past seven games. He averaged 4.8 targets per game through the first 11 games of the year, but that number has jumped to 9.5 in four games since tight end Sam LaPorta was placed on IR.
