Liam Rosenior, Chelsea ‘very aligned’ on transfer plans, with or without Champions League

Chelsea’s season may be going away faster than last night’s Taco Bell, but don’t worry the gullible in me, the future is still very bright and very exciting. Sunshine, rainbows, lollipops, not even a cloud in the sky. Those in charge remain steadfast in their vision for the road ahead, and so many adjustments are being made that we are putting all chiropractors out of business at the same time.

Liam Rosenior has drank more than his contractually fair share of Kool-Aid, but that’s not a problem, there’s still plenty to drink. In fact, there is nothing wrong here; how dare you suggest otherwise! (These quotes are from Friday, before Everton’s humiliating defeat on Saturday, but I doubt that changed anything.)

“We’re having very detailed conversations now about the areas we want to strengthen. I’ve had great conversations [with the sporting directors] About what I think we need. The fact that we’re so aligned on what we want to strengthen and how to get there is very exciting. The most important thing, though, is making sure we take advantage of the present as well.

“It’s great to be able to plan for the future, but I want to make sure we’re in a good position as well. We want to win. That’s why I’m here and I’m having really good conversations with the owners and the athletic director about that.”

That “now” moment is definitely going well now, isn’t it? How could anyone be dissatisfied with how things are going or the direction we are heading. Everyone was as happy as clams.

“I have a very, very good relationship with the players because we talk all the time. Not just about football, or their contract situation, but about their lives, how their kids are, how their school is. I have a very, very close relationship with Enzo and the other players.

“In terms of contracts and where they want to go, not a single player at this club has said since I’ve been here that he doesn’t want to be here in the summer. In fact, the conversation has been more about how we can improve, what we can do as a team to improve, what we need to do now to win. That’s where we are at the moment. [But] They like it here. “

We are currently on the verge of a huge competitive and financial hole. If we fell in, it would probably take us quite some time to climb over the wall and get out.

“In my conversations with the owners and the sporting director, our plans don’t just depend on whether we get into the Champions League. But there are a lot of ifs. We just have to make sure that the ‘what ifs’ we create are as positive as possible and that we still have the ability to do that.”

We go from special people, to fiery hell, to older men, to creating what-ifs. You would never sign that.
